Pupil Premium
Headteacher's Welcome
Catch up premium 2017 - 2018

For the academic year 2017/2018 Grove school has been allocated £15000.

This grant is in addition to main school funding and should be used to raise attainment in those pupils with the weakest literacy and numeracy levels. Grove school will use the funding to support students that achieved fine scores below 100 at KS2 English and/ or Maths.

Targets for 2017 2018
· To improve the reading skills of students that arrive with the lowest KS2 fine scores
· To improve the vocabulary of all students, and for catch up students to make accelerated progress
· To rapidly improve numeracy skills of catch up students so that they are able to access the correct age appropriate curriculum.

Strategies for 2017 2018
The strategies we will employ to deliver the targets above are
· Reduced class sizes in English and Maths
· Additional staffing and support in lessons
· Quality first teaching for all students using the TEEP cycle and Diagnosis, Therapy, Testing systems
· Bedrock Learning platform to drive accelerated progress in vocabulary
· Ruth Miskin for targeted students to rapidly improve reading and comprehension skills
· MathsWhizz for targeted students to improve the ‘working age’ in maths.
